A Waymo 3D render was posted as Opus 5.5 output from Claude Code. At 19:00 the same account retracted it: the footage came from a YouTube video uploaded on September 18.

Said Anthropic was stealth-testing claude-opus-5-5 under the codename claude-wafer-eap, planned for Tuesday. The post had about 233,000 views by 19:09. Anthropic has not responded.

Posted a price sheet: $4 input, $20 output, $0.20 cache read, and $5 cache write per million tokens. Three of the four figures are exactly 80% of Opus 5 list prices. Anthropic’s price page has no matching row.

Anthropic’s model overview that day still listed four current models: Claude Fable 5.1, Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Haiku 4.5. The page had no Opus 5.5, no claude-opus-5-5, and no wafer. Opus 5 remains the July 24 release, claude-opus-5, at $5 input and $25 output per million tokens, with a 1M-token context.

A name, a codename, or a price screenshot is not enough. Confirmation is an Anthropic news post, a model ID in the docs, or @claudeai / @AnthropicAI naming the model.
