For the work you used to do in Arc
Arc browser alternative: try Tabbit.
If you came to Arc for vertical tabs and stayed for a better way to work, try Tabbit. Keep pages organized, ask questions about what is open, and hand a multi-step web task to AI.
Desktop: macOS and Windows. Free experience available; AI models and quotas depend on region and plan.

Choose the part of Arc you need to replace.
These are four different routes. Start with the workflow you want to keep, then test the tradeoff on your own machine.
| Browser | Choose it for | Check before switching |
|---|---|---|
| Tabbit | Vertical tabs, page Q&A, web tasks and reusable Skills in one browser. | Check import options, extension compatibility and AI quotas. Arc Spaces are not promised to transfer intact. |
| Dia | The migration path recommended by the team behind Arc. | Arc says Dia imports Spaces, folders, tab groups and browser data. Confirm availability for your operating system. |
| Zen | A Firefox-based, open-source browser with workspaces and split view. | Use Firefox extensions rather than Chrome extensions; the official site still labels it beta. |
| Vivaldi | Configurable vertical tabs, tab stacks, tiling and workspaces. | Expect to configure shortcuts and layout to match your habits. |
This is a Tabbit guide, not a performance benchmark. Dia migration details come from Arc’s announcement; other features come from the products’ own materials.
From open pages to a finished task.
The reason to try Tabbit is what you can do with your tabs once they are organized.
Read a page. Ask a better question.
Ask for a summary, translation or explanation while the source is still open. Add selected tabs or files as context instead of copying everything into another chat.

Give the browser an outcome.
Task mode can research pages, operate websites and prepare files. Specify the sources and output you need, follow the execution steps, and check the final data.

Save the workflow as a Skill.
Turn a useful prompt or repeatable task into a Skill. Choose from the models available in your region and plan, then reuse the workflow for the next project.

A successful Arc migration means your daily work still works. Keep a backup until you have checked the replacement.
Save what matters
Back up important links and record your Spaces, folders and pinned sites. Use Arc’s current export instructions; keep the original data.
Check the importer
Inspect the import choices in your installed Tabbit version. If Arc is not listed, use a supported export and import route. Do not assume passwords, cookies or Spaces will transfer.
Test sites and extensions
Check your password manager, work accounts, essential extensions and shortcuts. Rebuild one project’s tab group before moving everything.
Try a useful AI task
Summarize a source page or compare a few product pages. Review citations and output, then decide whether to make Tabbit your default.
Questions before you leave Arc
Has Arc Browser already shut down?
As checked on October 23, 2026, Arc has announced a sunset date of December 22, 2026. Do not confuse the announcement with an immediate shutdown. Follow the official notice for subsequent changes.
Which Arc browser alternative should I try?
Try Tabbit for page Q&A, AI tasks and Skills alongside vertical tabs. Consider Dia for the official migration path, Zen for a Firefox-based workspace, or Vivaldi for detailed tab customization.
Can Tabbit import all of my Arc data?
A complete direct Arc migration has not been verified for this guide. Check the importer in your current Tabbit version, keep backups and verify each data type. Arc’s promise about importing Spaces and folders applies to Dia.
Is Tabbit an Arc alternative for Windows?
Tabbit offers Windows and macOS desktop versions. Check the regional download page for current system requirements. This guide does not promise a Linux release or identical mobile features.
Is Tabbit free?
Tabbit offers a free experience. Model access, task limits and paid membership benefits vary by region and can change. Check the current official site rather than assuming unlimited AI usage.
Will Tabbit feel exactly like Arc?
No. Vertical tabs help preserve a familiar browsing habit, but shortcuts, tab groups, import behavior and AI tools differ. Try one project before changing your default browser.
